The Son Sant Joan airport in Palma de Mallorca will host the International Tourism Forum on the 17th, 18th and 19th November, an event organised by the Consell de Mallorca and will bring together world experts from the tourism sector, that will share their vision on the current situation and the future expectations in this field. These sessions will be held within the Tecnoturistica show that will be held in the enclosure of the airport.

According to the Director of the tourism information of the Consell, Josep Bestard, the instituition will desigante 100,000 Euros for the organisation of this Forum, which will has the presence of tour operators and travel agencies, directors of Spanish foreign tourism offices and specialists in other fields related to tourism, such as golf clubs and venues for events.

On Wednesday, 17th at 1700h, the President of the Consell, Maria Antonia Munar, will official open the sessions by giving the first presentation, “Future perspectives on the tourism industry” with the participation of, among others, the President Grupo Marsans, Gonzalo Pascual, the Director of Tui Deutschland, Kirsten Feld-Türkis, and the Vice-President of Thomas Cook, Lothar Buss, who will be sharing their opinions with the Conseller de Turismo, Joan Flaquer, who will be the facilitator of the session.

The conference “Actual state of tourism and demand trends” will be held on the 18th, which will be led by the Director of OET Berlín, Alvaro Blanco, the sub-director of OET London, Juan Sanabria, and Josep Bestard , the representative of the Consell.

The forum will end on Friday, 19th with the presentation of “Towards the development of specialised tourism” where the President of OPC Madrid, Julio C. Abreu, the President of Federación Española de Hostelería y Restauración, José Luis Guerra, and the President of Asociación de Campos de Golf, Jose Gimenez will debate.
